Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is here! I love the variety of items that Nordstrom includes in the sale, especially when it comes to kid and baby items. Here are my top picks for this year's sale for expecting mamas!
Nuna Pipa RX Infant Car Seat and Base
Fun/not so fun fact: Nuna is not sold on amazon, at Target or Walmart and it can be difficult to find the Pipa car seats on sale. The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is reliably one of the best prices you will ever see on this car seat, all year long. There are so many features that I love about this car seat and why I've chosen it for my two babies and any future babies!
One of the biggest factors about car seat safety that I hear from CPSTs is the ability to install the seat correctly. Nuna's base installs quickly, intuitively, and without needing to tighten anything. Whether its me, my husband, a family member, a friend, a babysitter, or anyone else, the ease of the base install on this car seat gave me the most peace of mind that someone else could get it right without me standing right there.
No one talks about how often you end up moving your car seat around, even if you have a base in each parent's car. Whether you're adding more passengers or more stuff to the car and need to shift the car seat location, someone else is driving the baby, you're in an accident (happened to my husband, no baby in the car, but we had to buy a new base), you're cleaning out your car, or something else, when you have a base that installs easily and quickly, you will thank yourself every time. And you will greatly miss it when you move to a convertible seat!!!
Another thing to note about Pipa car seats, that wasn't a reason I bought them but was something I was grateful for later, is how light the carrier is. Coming in around 7-8 pounds, I was able to carry the car seat (without a baby in it) and not exceed my 10 pound lifting limit post C-section. This was really important for being able to feel like I could care independently for my babies when my husband went back to work. It also means you'll be able to keep using the carrier for longer as baby grows before it gets to heavy to lift.
TL;DR: this car seat base is easy to install and lightweight leading to reliable install and longer use of the carrier. Anniversary sale is the best time to get a good deal on this car seat!
As you near the end of pregnancy, foot pain and swelling can be common. Of course address this with your doctor, but I often found that wearing supportive sneakers around the house was helpful to alleviate some of the pain.
While I don't wish colic on ANYONE, it's always a potential. My feet were saved by having great sneakers as we lapped our house for hours on ends at all hours. Treat your feet, treat yourself!
Not all socks are created equal and I found myself wearing socks constantly postpartum. Having great socks like Bombas can be a game changer for comfort. Bombas provide a bit of arch support and have a no-slip, cushioning design in the back. This will also serve you and your feet well during those laps around your home!
I got this blow dry brush last year for Christmas and it has been my favorite styling tool that I have ever owned. I don't exaggerate when I say it's amazing. The way that it can quickly dry and style my hair helps me to actually want to put in the effort to feel more put together. There's that saying that when you look good you feel good, and I do believe that makes a big difference post partum. Some days it won't happen, but that's okay!
I have also found that keeping your hair looking fresh with dry shampoo and this Airebrush is also a dynamic duo! I'll spray on my dry shampoo, rub it in, and then use the Airebrush to blow it out root to end.
